There are shape-shifting plants, mysterious beings from another planet, a human zoo. Award-winning Argentine author Tomás Downey moves between reality, fantasy, horror, and science fiction - his work can be considered alongside Latin American authors such as Samanta Schweblin and Mariana Enríquez - but his fiction ultimately resides in a singular, magical space that exists beyond genres.
