TYPE Books is an independent bookstore located in the heart of Toronto’s cultural community on Queen Street West, on Spadina Road in the old village of Forest Hill, and in the Junction near the West Toronto Diamond. 

In all three stores, co-owners Joanne Saul and Samara Walbohm have created spaces that bring together everything they love about books. 

Joanne and Samara first met while pursuing doctoral studies in literature at the University of Toronto. TYPE grows out of their shared interest in book culture and community and their desire to create unique environments in Toronto where that culture can flourish.
