Comme bien des parents, ceux du personnage de ce livre ont fini par craquer et changer d’idée. Ils ont offert un petit chaton tout mignon à leur fils. Mais leur petit garçon découvrira qu’avoir un chat n’est pas qu’une simple partie de plaisir. Ça demande beaucoup de responsabilités. Il faut le nourrir, le soigner, le laver… Grâce à ce chat, il fera l’acquisition de toutes sortes de connaissances et réalisera tout ce que ses parents font pour lui et le travail qu’avoir un enfant demande.
C’est du boulot ! est un album riche en rigolade. On y apprend qu’être parent ou simplement responsable d’un animal de compagnie demande BEAUCOUP de travail. Vincent Guigue signe un texte jamais didactique, aux situations fort amusantes, qu’a visiblement adoré l’illustrateur Loïc Méhée qui s’est laissé aller à mettre en images le quotidien d’un chat et de celui qui s’en occupe avec beaucoup de fantaisie et d’humour.
