We are hiring for a Community Manager & Sales Staff Position
The Type Books Community Manager works closely with publishers and our staff to connect books to readers with social media, our website, our newsletter, our famous window displays, and our lively events. It’s a job that requires a combination of communication, publicity, project management, and administration skills.
This is the perfect opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking for a career in the publishing world. There is lots of room to grow, innovate, create, and connect with the Type Books community.
An overwhelming devotion to books. You must enjoy and be able to talk at length about the books you love (and even some books you don’t).
Familiarity with book publishing, especially in Canada and Toronto.
Self-motivation, with a proven ability to work independently.
Strong communication, administrative, and management skills and an ability to juggle many projects at a time.
Available to work evenings and weekends, outside of regular business hours.
A vision for the Type brand, and strategies about how to make that vision a reality.
These are not required to apply, but please provide details on your application if you have any of the following:
Bookstore or other retail sales experience.
Experience with Bookmanager, Wordstock, Wordpress, MailChimp, Excel (or comparable).
Event planning, promotion, or booking, familiarity with event venues in Toronto.
Photography, photo editing, or graphic design.
Education in publishing or related field.
Added bonus if you have a driver’s license!
