Biblioasis and Type Books invite you to the launch of 2017 Best Canadian Short Stories edited by John Metcalf.

John Metcalf has been the leading student, scholar, writer, and champion of the Canadian short story for more than five decades. As an editor, he has worked with several generations of Canada’s best short fiction writers, fom Alice Munro and Norman Levine to Caroline Adderson, Rebecca Rosenblum, and Annabel Lyon. Newly acquired by Biblioasis from Oberon Press and edited by Metcalf, this expanded edition of the annual Best Canadian Stories builds on the 48-year history of the anthology and features 15 of the best short stories from across Canada that the previous year had to offer. Drawing on a relationship with literary magazines across the country, the selections in the anthology will reflect the lively and diverse literary culture in Canada.
