Joyland co-founder and author of The Blondes, Emily Schultz returns to Toronto to launch her new novel, Men Walking on Water (Knopf). She’ll be joined by poet, essayist, and Detroit native Damian Rogers for a talk about borders, booze, and writing. 

ABOUT EMILY SCHULTZ
Emily Schultz is the co-founder of Joyland Magazine, host of the podcast Truth & Fiction, and creator of the blog Spending the Stephen King Money. Schultz’s novel, The Blondes, was released in the U.S. with St. Martin’s Press and in Canada with Doubleday, as well as in French translation by Editons Alto. It was named a Best Book of 2015 by NPR and Kirkus. Her writing has appeared in Elle, Bustle, Vice, The Walrus, Black Warrior Review, Hazlitt, and Prairie Schooner. She lives in Brooklyn.

ABOUT DAMIAN ROGERS
Damian Rogers was born and raised in suburban Detroit and now lives in Toronto. Her most recent collection of poems, Dear Leader, was published by Coach House in 2015. Her memoir, An Alphabet for Joanna, is forthcoming from Knopf.
